FUTURE PLANS FOR THE HOSPITAL
In October 2001, the management of BDDH held a workshop to plan for the next 5 years beginning year 2002. Participants to this workshop came from the most important and active stakeholders of BDDH.
These include:
- BDDH Management and some staff representatives.
- Representative from Bunda district Central government (DAS).
- Representative from Bunda District Local government (DMO).
- Representative from the MoH ( Mara R M O )
- Representative from Mara region planning office
- The ELCT - Headquarters - Arusha
- The ELCT - diocese in Mara Region
- The NLM/NORAD representative.
The main objective of this workshop was to share ideas, brainstorm and deliberate to come up with an feasible 5-year plan. When such a plan is implemented accordingly, Bunda DDH will become sustainable after the pull out or reduction of external support, which mainly is from NLM/NORAD, without compromising quality of services. Major activities within this 5-year plan will be implemented through: -
- Staff training, recruitment and retrenchment.
- Investment into physical infrastructures necessary and in conformity with the expected outcomes.
- Rehabilitation of major areas of concern and replacement of worn-out important technical facilities.
- Adequate and appropriate supply of drugs, equipment and supplies.
- Improvement on the current management system and capacity
In order to be able to carry out these activities, financial contributions as well as gifts in kind will be the responsibility of all stakeholders.
